 A River's Voice
Have you ever watched the river flow
and sensed what it could teach?
As it whispers low and constantly enroute to ocean's beach.
At times it seems so frivolous a waste of water clear
Its subject to all man's abuse as it descends from here.
Persistent though it stays the course for a life it will reflect
It may get rough and then fall smooth do things we do not expect
Patient and resilient too results for it will come
For even rock will take the shape the river wants to form
I do not get tired of watching it and probably never will A river never falters though its life is all downhill.
